Community and Environment

Smith & Richardson Inc. (“S&R”) understands it has a responsibility to all stakeholders to run a safe, profitable, ethical, environmental, and socially conscious business.
We strive to be a good neighbor and citizen to the local communities where our operations are located. We engage our school systems to encourage careers in manufacturing and welcome visitors to tour our operations. We are active in numerous trade associations allowing us the ability to stay abreast of the latest best practices. We have a continuous learning culture where S&R continually pays 90% of all continuing education expenses for all of our team members.

Environmentally we employee numerous recycling programs and look to improve present manufacturing capabilities to reduce their impact on the environment. When purchasing new equipment or modernizing our facilities the environmental impact is one of the metrics utilized during the evaluation process to determine its viability.
