In 1992, the future CEO of Smith & Richardson Inc. attended a seminar lead by Edward Deming. Here, the SR philosophies of continuous improvement, quality is free, and people should be empowered were born. Smith & Richardson Inc. formalized these principles in 1994 by becoming ISO9000 certified.
